Passage: Deuteronomy 20:8, Luke 19:20–26
In Duet. 20:8 the children of Israel were instructed to send home those who were afraid less they cause others to become faint hearted. In Luke 19 the servant was so afraid of losing the pound that his Lord had entrusted him with that he just hid it away. He was strongly rebuked and cast out for giving in to his fears and not taking the risk and investing his Lord's money.
